The Dip

It started off innocently enough; beautiful spring day driving with the top down heading home from a local park. Since we skipped lunch we were both looking for a light snack. We didn't want anything to heavy as we were meeting friends for dinner in a few hours.

As luck would have it we spied a local whippy dip named "The Dip" advertising soft serve flavors like Cake Batter, Peanut Butter, and Dole Orange. What a perfect treat to hold us over till later. Amy shocked me by not ordering the Peanut Butter. Instead she ordered the simple Chocolate Vanilla twist. For myself what can I say; they had me a Cake Batter.

As we were driving away Amy mentioned how much she missed doing the reviews of the local whippy dips around Cincinnati. So we decided to start the tradition back up. Hence our first blog update in almost two years. So without further ado here is our review of "The Dip" at 1680 Gelhot Drive, Fairfield, Ohio 45014

Chocolate-Vanilla Twist: 4 1/2 out of 5
  • The chocolate was very good. Very rich, smooth, and a good chocolaty flavor. Second best chocolate flavor in the city next to Putz's Creamy Whip
  • The vanilla was nice and creamy. We felt if could use a little more vanilla flavor. So far Tucker' s Whippy Dip is our favorite vanilla.
Cake Batter: 4 1/2 out of 5
  • If you like yellow cake batter you will love this cone. It's very good and also very very rich. I loved the first few bites but I only was able to eat about 1/2 of a small cone.

Up next on the review list is Phat Man's Dairy Bar, Biker Dude Ice Cream, and Flub's Ice Cream
